Endoscopy Technician

Under the supervision of the Central Sterile Supervisor, incumbents perform tasks and responsibilities for the cleaning and Disinfecting of Flexible Scopes & Tee Probes. Endoscope Technicians assist in the cleaning, preparation and maintenance of sterile supplies, instruments, for endoscopic procedures according to hospital policy and physician’s routine. Endoscope Technicians must be available to work in rotating shifts and on short notice for emergency duty if needed. Good knowledge of endoscopic instruments and apparatuses used in the endoscopy setting and the ability to work rapidly and accurately over long periods at the fast pace of the endoscopy unit is required. Endoscope Technicians are subject to the hazards of working with sharp instruments and hot sterilizing equipment. Performs other related work as required.

Responsibilities include good knowledge of Endoscopes processing, correct method of handling, and providing instruments and supplies.


  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2-years Flexible Scopes Handling Experience
  • CRCST Sterile Processing Certification or CBSPD Certification
